Episode 017: The Scrub in the Shrub

     Dubbed Title Meaning:
A scrub can be defined as "an undersized person", "a poorly developed domestic animal", "stunted shrub", and Gaimon's hair looks like a shrub so..

     Digital Edit:

     Dialogue Edit:
50 years of painting, and only 1 or 2 grandchildren? I guess 4Kids didn't want to make it sound so farfetched because Nami thought that Usopp would have 5 or 6 grandchildren! And Luffy was even more impressed!

     Name Change:
In the dub, Gaimon's island is called The Golden Island, while in the original it was called the Legendary Treasure Island.

     Dialogue Edit:
The people who go to the island faces God's wrath, in the dub it was the ghost of the island's wrath.

     Clip Edit:
The ship going to the island, as well as Luffy sitting on the bow, Usopp and Zoro grabbing the ropes, Nami smiling with the binoculars, some more of the Going Merry, this is all gone.

     Dialogue Edit:
Originally, the "Guardian God" was asked by Nami why a God needed to ask whether they were pirates or not. Take a step and face the trial (dub) or God's judgment (sub)?

     Color Edit:
Gaimon's gun got a color change! [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Usopp asking Gaimon about the God deal is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
The joke with the sheltered daughter and all was of course, removed.

     Clip Edit:
Usopp opening his bag is taken out.

Close up of Luffy and all sorts is taken out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Zoro asking if Gaimon was a "boxed son" was removed, for sure.

     Clip Edit:
Scene with Luffy showing Gaimon that he had the map to the Grand Line is cut out.

A 1 second clip of Luffy and the back of Gaimon (him saying that they're like twins) was removed.

Side view of Gaimon was removed, also, before he tells his story.

The whole view of Gaimon's old crew was not shown.

     Digital Edit:
A little edit, the tatoo on this pirate's arm was altered a little. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Nami originally said that she'd help get the treasure for Gaimon, but in the dub she suggests Luffy should get them.

The far away shot of Zoro, Gaimon and Nami is cut out, this happens right after Luffy flies to the top of the cliff.

     Dialogue Edit:
Dubbed Luffy says it was a good thing they came on the 20th year, and not 20 years later, that is all. In the original Luffy said that in another 30 years Gaimon would've probably died.

     Clip Edit:
Another far away shot of the crew was removed.

The second scene of the Strawhat Pirates waving goodbye is cut out.
