Episode 019: King of the Busboys
(Episode 020: The Famous Cook! Sanji of the Floating Restaurant)

New characters introduced: Yosaku, Owner Zeff, Lieutenant Fullbody, Sanji

     Dubbed Title Meaning:
At first, I thought it was referring to Luffy since he's the one who wants to be "King of the Pirates", but it's actually referring to Sanji.

     Clip Edit:
The scene of a glass of wine being poured right after the episode title is cut out.

     Color Edit:
I don't know if it's just me, but the contents of the glass is a different color. [Dub|Sub]

Kanpai to you m'lady.. with different colored wine. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Right after, you see half of the face of a the man pouring the wine (Fullbody), it was removed.

The wine bottle rolling around on Going Merry is no more.

     Interesting Note:
Surprisingly the kanji for ocean/sea on Johnny's face stayed intact - 4Kids is known for usually taking out every bit of Japanese you see in the anime they dub (even my sister thought that Pokemon was originally an American cartoon). Also, dubbed Johnny is voiced by Yami's [Yu-Gi-Oh Dub] VA o.o Hmm.. and it seems like Zolo pronounced Yosaku's name "Yosako".. but it only happened a few times.

     Clip Edit:
Right after Johnny tells the Straw Hat pirates that they shot the cannon at the rock where he and Yosaku were resting, there was a clip showing Usopp's and Luffy's guilt.. it got taken out. They also mixed the scenes around for a few seconds.

     Digital Edit:
the "WB" on Nami's shirt got editted out. [Dub|Sub]

     Digital Edit:
Yosaku's cigarette got editted out. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
4Kids added a few seconds to show the outside of the Merry Go right after the commercial was over, it was not originally there.

     Dialogue Edit:
The dubbed crew don't seem to take scurvy that seriously ;_;

     Clip Edit:
When the floating restaurant Baratie was introduced by Johnny, the clip that showed the Baratie logo on the ship is taken out.

     Digital Edit/Tidbits:
Johnny throws the wanted posters onto the floor. The words "Dead and Alive" were digitally removed. [Dub|Sub]

After Fullbody tells the soldiers to sink Luffy's ship, we see a backshot of Going Merry and Fullbody's Marine ship. The word Marine was changed to Navy, but since it's the back of the sail, the word should be mirrored as well :D [Dub|Sub] oh, and the word Baratie on the restaurant is gone again. When we see Nami pick up one of the wanted posters, 4Kids forgot to edit out "Dead or Alive".

     Name Change:
Gomu Gomu no Pachinko is dubbed Gum Gum Slingshot.

     Clip Edit:
The clip of Fullbody and his lady picking up the wine glass on their table after they were filled up and a close up of the "waiter" holding the wine bottle is cut out.

     Color Edit/Digital Edit:
Wine bottles disappearing and wine color changed. [Dub|Sub]

     Dialogue Edit:
Dubbed Fullbody rants to the "waiter" about grapejuice, not wine.

Dubbed Sanji changes the way he mocks Fullbody about the fly in the soup.

     Clip Edit:
When Fullbody breaks the table, the camera goes left to right to view the customers' reaction. This is removed.

     Dialogue Edit:
Sanji's line to Fullbody, "Can money fill up your stomach?" was important, but is removed in the dub.

     Clip Edit:
Looks like they mixed the way Luffy got beat up by Zeff :D

The clip with Fullbody's blood dripping on the spilt soup was removed.

     Digital Edit:
When Zoro, Nami, and Usopp arive, the wine bottle on a table was editted out. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Fullbody's bloody knuckles are never shown.

     Dialogue Edit:
At this point, dubbed Sanji sounds like an arrogant fool ;_;
