Episode 028: The Crack of Don
(Episode 029: Outcome of a Deadly Battle! The Spear Inside!)

Dubbed Title Meaning:
"The Crack of Don" is supposed to be "The Crack of Dawn", just replacing "Dawn" with "Don" from Don Krieg. And no, we don't get to see Don's crack, lol. The discussion regarding that at the AP forums made me laugh.
Dialogue Edit:
Instead of laughing like a monkey (ukeki~!) dubbed Luffy just laughed his usual laugh, dubbed watchers will know. But at least both Don Kriegs called him a monkey as Luffy leaped!
Luffy originally didn't say anything before Krieg used his flamethrower.
Name Change:
Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Gatoringu (Gattling Gun) is still called Gum Gum Rapid Fire.
Dialogue Edit:
Krieg didn't make any noise as Luffy did his Gattling Gun. Imagine yourself shaking someone really fast and having him say "ahh" and you'll get how Krieg sounds in the dub.
Clip Edit:
One pirate didn't get dialogue like he should've during this scene. The cooks' dialogues were taken out as well.
Zeff and Sanji's close-ups during the Gattoringu was removed.
Dialogue Edit:
After Krieg laughs at Luffy's efforts to break his armor, Luffy quickly follows it up with a Gomu Gomu no Pistoru. In the dub, Luffy had some extra dialogue before announcing his Gum Gum Blast. He also got an extra "oww~!" as he hits Krieg with the Blast.
Instead of talking about his number of weapons making him strong, Krieg kept on commenting how Luffy's too weak.
Name Change:
Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Bazooka is still Gum Gum Double Barrel (and I will keep reminding you too), although he finishes the call a lot sooner than the original Luffy.
Dialogue Edit:
I should've announced this sooner (or maybe I have), but Krieg has never once called Luffy a Hammer (because he was a Devil's Fruit user) during the dubbed arc.
Clip Edit:
One part of the bombs blowing up the broken ship was missed, and instead placed after Sanji calls out to him (right before the commercial break for 4Kids).
Following that is the last bit of it sinking, this was also removed.
Dialogue Edit:
As dubbed Krieg was falling, he comments about how Luffy should've wished he could swim instead of stretch. In the original, Krieg was mocking at what Luffy said to him about not dying.
Clip Edit:
Zeff and Sanji's close-ups were again cut out, this happens as soon as Krieg's armor breaks.
Dialogue Edit:
Because these dubbed shows for kids/teens cannot say anything about dying, replacing it with "finishing you off" or "taking you out" or, going to the Dragon Ball Z world, "sending you to the next dimension', dubbed Luffy shouts out "You're still here?!" to Krieg when he fires the iron net. Luffy was originally asking "You're still alive!?".

The close-up of Sanji as Krieg takes Luffy down to the sea with him is cut out.
Dialogue Edit:
Haha! In the original Krieg says that he always gets the last laugh! Wondering why dubbed Buggy gets to say that a million times and Krieg doesn't get to? "Just try stretching yourself out of this one--!"

The pirates cheering for Don Krieg as he takes Luffy down is cut out.
Name Change:
Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Ootsuchi (Huge Mallet, Sledgehammer, whichever works fine) was dubbed "Gum Gum Hammer", and he yet again finishes his call a lot sooner.
Clip Edit:
The close up of the Krieg pirates and Zeff after Luffy takes Krieg out with Oozduchi were taken out.
During Sanji's flashbacks of Luffy had some parts cut out. For example... Luffy taking out the stake, Mihawk stabbing Zoro near the heart, and Zeff's dialogue about Luffy's 'spear' (was replaced with Sanji's thoughts). As Sanji saw the school of fish swim by, he says "My dream is to get to the Great Blue". In the original, Sanji just thought, "All Blue!".
Tidbit:
That's right Ghin, Krieg is the terror of the East Blue sea! Great that "-Blue" got mentioned sometime. But you know what, I'm still pretty sure that 4Kids intended that to sound like they were describing the sea as Blue. I have my suspicions because of the word "the" before East Blue sea and that in previous times it was just called Eastern Sea.
Dialogue Edit:
Patty and Carne were quite worried about Gin getting up because he's poisoned, but in the dub they were saying that if Ghin needs a new role model he could look up to them.
Clip Edit:
Sanji smacking Luffy in the head because he got him worried is cut out. I personally thought this was really funny.. hahaha XD
Dialogue Edit:
Gin didn't say "I'm sorry, Don" after punching him, he didn't even say anything at all.
Dialogue Edit:
The end of Nami's dialogue at the end was changed completely, nothing about Bellemere-san too.
