Episode 042: Sanji Sizzles

     Clip Edit:
So, the dubbed episode starts off with people spotting Luffy on top of the execution platform, and Luffy himself looks around while enjoying the view. This is actually from the beginning of 52.. After that is a shot of the cooking competition from a zoomed-out perspective; there's one thing you should notice besides the spelling of Loguetown to Roguetown; the blue finned elephant tuna. It's sitting there, since it's the prize. But later on we're going to be seeing the guys discovering the fisherman's catch. It warped. In the next scene, we see a bunch of red fish hanging in the market. Afterwards is a shot of Sanji looking at the market, then the right to left camera movement to see all the fish. In the original after Buggy sends Mohji out (everyone gathering at the square in the dub was originally supposed to be after the culintary battle, if you remember) we see an overhead view of the market and Sanji decides to go check it out. Lots of fish.. then the red fishies. Some scene switching, is all.

     Digital Edit:
The kanji on the fish seller's apron is erased. [Dub|Sub]

     Interesting Note:
Yaay no more East Blue Sea and West Blue Sea stuff anymore.

     Name Change:
The Blue-finned Elephant Tuna is called the Titatic Tuna.

     Clip Edit:
The first few flashes of Sanji's past involving the knowledge of the blue-finned elephant tuna are gone.

The cooks telling young Sanji that the fish is the miracle ingredient and about All Blue is cut out. It's the entire thing, that had Sanji turn around to face them while they were washing dishes, and looking back at his book.

     Name Change:
The name of the contest, All East Cooking Contest, has no name.

     Clip Edit:
Sanji remembering Carmen's challenge is cut out.

The fireworks firing in the air is taken out.

The zoomed out shot of the cooking contest and the view of the banner switched places.

     Digital Edit:
Kanji on the banner is gone. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
The clip of the senshu area is gone. [Sub]

Sanji exhaling from his smoke is gone.

     Digital Edit:
Hehehe, a bad shot that definitely says, "Sanji smokes a cigarette, not a lollipop". [Dub|Sub] Oh and, a mouth edit too?

     Clip Edit:
A clip of the tournament standings is gone.

     Name Change:
The fish seller guy (announcer) introduces two of the chefs, but they have no name in the dub (and neither does Sam, the drunken judge, he pops in here and there within the series).

     Clip Edit:
The announcer banging the pot to show that the contest has started is cut out, but is moved to a later time.

     Digital Edit:
Dubbed Sanji is entering the contest to show that he's the best cook, and to win the tuna as a side thing. In the original, Usopp asks him if he's entering because he wanted to be called the greatest, but he tells him wrong and that he's only doing it for the tuna.

     Clip Edit:
Another shot of the cooking contest from far away (2 repeats so far), and then the fish seller finally bangs the pot.

     Audio Edit:
4Kids COOKING SONG!

     Digital Edit:
And a missing kanji. ^^; [Dub|Sub]

     Dialogue Edit:
At the beginning of the finals, originally it was young Sanji's voice that was heard (plus some of the Baratie chefs), not his own.

     Clip Edit:
Another flashback of Sanji's past about All Blue is gone.

A still shot of young Sanji's determination is gone.

The quick flashes of the elephant tuna (they're tinted blue) are gone.

     Color Edit:
The wine bottle that Sanji pours is a different color. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
A still shot of Sanji and Zeff on the mushroom rock (flashback) is cut out.

More of young Sanji is cut out, the still ones that showed him walking towards the light.

     Digital Edit:
The words on the floor beneath Leo and Jose are erased. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
These are quick but removed - Sanji grabbing the pan's handle, lifting the lid up and shaking the meat in the pan before tossing it in the air.

     Digital Edit:
A missing wine bottle on Sanji's table and on Carmen's table. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
A clip of one of the announcers beginning to read the paper is cut out.

     Digital Edit:
Some letters and words are removed in the back. [Dub|Sub]

     Color Edit:
Carmen's drink is a different color. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
The crowd looking shocked after Carmen shouts that this is something she can't forgive is cut out.

Carmen's flashback of Sanji is gone.

A zoomed in shot of Leo is gone.

     Digital Edit:
"Loguetown" is completely erased. [Dub|Sub]

     Dialogue Edit:
Carmen talking about Sanji's dream (referring to All Blue) wasn't present. She kinda insulted him a little :/

And to make things worse, dubbed Carmen says that she dated Leo a few years back!

     Clip Edit:
A shot of Leo and Jose (after Leo got kicked), Usopp and Nami, and the fish seller announcer guy, they are cut out.

A short scene from 52 is put here, a close up shot of Nami's ap meter and a talk about it before Sanji looks up to the sky. Then they decide to hurry and run. After that, Luffy's hat flies away but that ending was put in the episode before. End of episode 51~

     Digital Edit:
The words "ap meter" are gone. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
A "sort of" repeat of the beginning of the dubbed episode, until an officer yells at Luffy to get down.

     Dialogue Edit:
"Chopping block", says dubbed Luffy, not hung in the gallows. He hopes to get chopped where Gold Roger got executed :( ?

     Clip Edit:
Luffy looking confused at Alvida and saying that he has never met anyone like her is cut out, and the close up shot of Alvida smiling is cut out. When Alvida says that Luffy was the first one to ever hit her, the crowd kinda looks up angrily. In the dub, you immediately see them angry crowd.

Alvida rubbing her belly where Luffy punched her, and a recap of the end of episode 1 is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Woh the officers already know Alvida's name before she even said her name. o.o

     Clip Edit:
Shortly after that, you can see the hearts on the officers through the reflection from the water fountain, and then all of a sudden a bomb blows up the fountain and pieces of the fountain kinda.. "miss" Alvida. It's the Buggy Bomb Special! Luffy, wondering what just happened, looks over. All of this is cut out.

     Name Change:
Sube Sube to Slip Slip, "sube" means smooth.

     Clip Edit:
A back shot of Buggy is cut out.

Some shot of the clouds moving around is gone. Now we see Nami's ap meter in the original, which was moved to be shown earlier. A clip of Sanji is cut out, and that's where the dub continues.

While Zoro and Sanji head to the execution platform, Usopp is left carrying the elephant tuna alone, and staggers, so there's a really close up of his feet moving around while Zoro and Sanji run, and that's cut out.

     Digital Edit:
Some letters on the building where Smoker is are erased. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Smoker recalling the time when he and Luffy first met without knowing each other isn't in the dub, and neither is the back shot of him, Luffy running, and a front shot Smoker, that shows right after.

     Color Edit:
A pirate's gun is blue! [Dub|Sub]

     Digital Edit:
Buggy's crewmen fire their guns in the air, causing little smoke balls to appear from the guns. They simply look like their dancing in the dub, without the smoke and crackles from their guns.

     Dialogue Edit:
While Buggy was talking, Luffy never screamed for help in the dub.

     Clip Edit:
Usopp and Nami running down the street towards the harbor is cut out, but a few clips of that are put after the Navy begin to go towards all the ships. Adding a shot of the main square at the end, this is the end of dub 42! (Thank God ;_;)
