Episode 043: Buggy's Back
(Episode 051: Buggy's Revenge! The Man Who Smiles at the Execution Platform! and

     Clip Edit:
First off (there's always something right at the beginning, huh?) Mohji goes off and is told to burn down Going Merry so Luffy and company could not escape. So he and Richie are there singing, or whatever, it's amusing anyways. Before Buggy asks Luffy if he had any last words, there's a quick shot of the ground that is reflecting the clouds in the sky. In the dub, a shot of the clouds and a little bit of the execution platform appears right after the title (at first I thought this was a missing shot in the last episode..) and then Buggy asks Luffy if he had any requests.

The next 2 shots are cut out. Cabaji and Alvida leave behind some parting words while Buggy talks some more.

A shot of Luffy's face with the expression that tells us he really doesn't like Buggy now, is cut out.

Right after is another one of those puddles showing the reflection of the storm clouds, but the storm is starting to get worse, this is gone and happens right before Luffy shouts out his last words to the crowd. The one after the shout is gone, too.

A great silence from the witnessing crowd.. this is cut out. About 3 shots of the crowd.

After Sanji and Zoro arrives, a very quick shot of Cabaji and Alvida is taken out.

     Digital Edit:
In an attempt to get rid of Buggy's blade close to Luffy's face, the people in charge of doing these digital edits mirrored Luffy's other eye, resulting in... a Luffy with 2 scars! [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
As soon as Sanji and Zoro dash to Buggy, Tashigi looking for Zoro with her binoculars is cut out.

The last guy that Sanji takes down falls on his back (camera view upside down) with his blade falling and stabbing into the ground, close to the guy's arm, this is cut out.

The marines hiding out behind the walls and around the corners are taken out.

Right before Buggy strikes, Luffy calls out to each of his crewmates. In the dub he only calls out to Zolo and Sanji (the silence, which shows a lot of storm clouds in the sky is cut out too).

After Luffy said he was sorry, little moments flash. Buggy swiping down with his sword, Zoro and Sanji, Smoker noticing that Luffy was smiling, and the part that had Buggy's blade like an inch above Luffy's neck. They're not in the dub, so we immediately see a lightning bolt crash onto the execution platform. After seeing the lightning bolt in the dub, that missing shot of Zoro, Sanji, and Smoker are put here, but Zoro and Sanji didn't have dialogue and Smoker just said, "what the?!"

After the crowd gasps while the lightning continues to hit, a shot of Sanji and Zoro in the same frame is cut out.

A few little extra scenes after the first two bolts fly out from the platform's supports (more bolts, more lightning, and a fried up Buggy) are cut out, but some of them re-appear in just a moment.

After a piece of metal clangs onto the ground in the dub, fried-up Buggy appears, a side flash of Chaser, then the whole platform lighting up in blue flames. In the original after that piece of metal falls, there is a shot of the crowd, another Zoro-Sanji shot, the side shot of Smoker, and then the platform lights on fire.

The sky begins to rain (cut out), and then the platform falls. A shot of the puddles are cut out.

Luffy walks to Zoro and Sanji laughing, while Sanji asks Zoro if he believed in God. Zoro knows that Buggy's crew are behind them, and he figures that trouble isn't over yet.

A shaking still shot of the marines fighting Buggy's crew is cut out.

Smoker recapping what just happened with Luffy and Buggy on the platform is taken out.

     Name Change:
First mention of the "doom tower", a.k.a. execution platform, at this part of the episode.

     Clip Edit:
A shot of a building while a marine answers Smoker is cut out.

A lot of Gold Roger's flashbacks during his execution day are cut out. In the dub it starts with his side view. Since a lot of the execution was taken out before, it happens here again. The actual execution, some little scenes.

After the flashback, Smoker is right up to the camera, but you see his soldier looking at him, this is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Smoker's main point in the conversation was that Luffy smiled just like Gold Roger right before he was executed. Chaser did mention that he smiled once, but he didn't talk to the marine about it, asked a questions, and so on. The title of the original episode was called "Buggy's Revenge! The Man Who Smiles at the Execution Platform!" after all -__-;

That marine's dialogue right before Tashigi's first dialogue in a while is cut out.

Start of episode 53. OOooOo Dragon-Yugi! *ahem*..

     Name Change:
Cabaji's All Natural Color Carnival is called Carnival of Colors in the dub.

     Clip Edit:
A marine soldier grabbing onto Alvida's arm, but slips and is smacked in the head with her iron club/mace/blugeon afterwards, is cut out.

Alvida rubbing her cheek with her finger is cut out as well.

A little joke here with Buggy is gone, since he confused himself with his own words and smacked one of the pirates in his crew. After that, more Alvida slippage with the marines and getting smacked with the iron club.

     Name Change:
Buggy's Bara Bara Car is changed to Chop Chop Buggy.

Alvida's Gelaende is changed to Slider.

Her Sube Sube Spur is changed to Slip Slip Tracks.

Smoker's White Out is changed to Smokescreen.

     Clip Edit:
Three townspeople appear in the alley to see Smoker, and explain his ability as well. This isn't in the dub.

     Name Change:
Smoker's Billower Bike is changed to Smog Hog.

     Clip Edit:
Usopp thinking of ditching Sanji's Elephant Tuna while the camera moves up towards the sea is cut out.

Mohji and Richie never appeared in the dub within this little bit of the arc, so they don't appear here either. We find out that the rain is stopping them from lighting a match, so they couldn't burn down Going Merry. Richie is hungry and gets distracted by the egg that Usopp shoots.

     Digital Edit:
The marines come, but since there's no Mohji, there's no Mohji in this shot here. [Dub|Sub]

     Interesting Note:
Hey! No altered guns.

     Clip Edit:
The three guns aim towards the three, with the guns right up to the camera as if the audience were the marines. This part, as well as Mohji dodging the bullets, marines planning to seize the ship, and Usopp calling to Nami.

A close up shot of Smoker's face as he rides towards Luffy and the others is cut out.

The camera zooming up to Tashigi, and following that her flashback with Zolo in the katana shop are cut out.

A different camera angle on Tashigi's face as she shouts towards Zoro is cut out.

After Zoro tells her to try and take Kuina's katana, a shot of the same camera angle on Tashigi that was just cut out is gone.

Zoro showing no effort in their little duel is cut out.

Sanji giving Zoro crap for attacking a lady is cut out. As well, Tashigi telling them that it's a fight between her and Zoro, and Zoro telling them to go ahead of them.

Zoro beginning to pull out a second katana, and the Kuina shot rightafter is cut out.

A quick shot of the water gushing through the gutters after Tashigi drops her katana is cut out.

The whole dealing with Tashigi sounding like Kuina too much to Zoro is cut out.

Luffy telling Sanji to go on ahead is cut out.

A close up shot of Sanji and Luffy (happens right before the original eyecatcher) is cut out.

     Digital Edit:
No Mohji and Richie again! [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
The second cannonball being shot is cut out. That second shot that was dangerously close to Merry's front caused the boat to shake. Usopp falls towards Nami's tangerine grove, and Nami hits the ship's pole. This isn't in the dub either.

Mohji and Richie finding out that Usopp and Nami are heading out, and a close up of Usopp and Nami afterwards are cut out.

Loguetown's sign, close up of Smoker, the gutters, the stormclouds, and some more rain pouring out from a roof's gutters are cut out.

     Name Change:
Smoker's Moku Moku fruit ("cloud" backwards, "kumo") is Smoke Smoke fruit.

     Clip Edit:
A shot of Luffy right before Smoker throws him to the ground is cut out.

The shot of Smoker from Luffy's point of view is cut out, probably because they found that angle unappropriate.

     Name Change:
Smoker's White Cloud is changed to Smoke Strike.

     Clip Edit:
That missing Loguetown sign that was cut out earlier appears after commercial break.

A shot of Luffy from Smoker's point of view while he asks what was going on (Dragon appeared) is cut out and is replaced with a repeat shot of the one before commercial break, with Smoker looking behind him as Dragon held onto his weapon.

The marine cannons breaking from Dragon's storm is cut out.

Smoker remembering what Luffy said at the execution platform is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Now now Tashigi, revenge isn't a good thing to teach to children :0

Dubbed Buggy didn't mention how he missed the Grand Line, which told us that he's been there before. He's just going there to chase Luffy, is all.

     Clip Edit:
5 shots of each person is cut out, won't go into much detail. They're the ones before Luffy smiles to Nami, while Nami smiles back.

A frontal shot of Merry while Sanji tells them they should have a launching ceremony is cut out.

A group shot of everyone, with the camera going from left to right as all of them smile in silence for a little moment, is cut out.

And finally, the very last part, with the still shot of Going Merry in the storm as a paint-like image (there must be an official name for this..) is cut out.

So, I'll mention it for the third time. Skipping Apis arc and going straight to the Red Line. Will we see much of Laboon? Who knows..
