Episode 045: Baroque Works
(Episode 064: A Pirate-Loving Town? Arrival at Whiskey Peak and
Episode 065: Exploding Santouryu! Zoro vs Baroque Works! and
Episode 066: A Serious Fight! Luffy vs Zoro: The Unexpected Duel!)

New characters introduced: Igaram (formally Igarappoi/Mr. 8), Vivi (formally Miss Wednesday), Mr. 5, Miss Valentine, Carue

     Dubbed Title Meaning:
Someone on the AP forums brought it up, otherwise I wouldn't of thought of it. The way Baroque is pronounced is like saying "broke" very slowly. Broke people, become bounty hunters, chase Zoro. I and some other people pronounce it a different way.. but others don't.

     Clip Edit:
In episode 64, which became some of the english 44, the ending where Zoro appears before Baroque Works is taken to the beginning of 45. At the title of the episode, as you can see, Zoro has his blade up already and he speaks even with the words still on the screen. It pretty much follows from where we left off in 44 that is still from 64, if that makes any sense at all.

After Zoro appears (two scenes after the above) there is a quick scroll from right to left of Miss Monday and company's reaction, this is taken out.

     Color Edit:
This bounty hunter's gun is changed to green. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Mr. 8 asks Zoro why he isn't unconcious like the rest of his crew... he says that true swordsmen should never be overwhelmed by drink. The scene where he says this (he gets up) and the one following it, which is the group of bounty hunters taking out their guns, is cut out.

Some time after that while Zoro explains about Baroque Works, the same group of hunters from the above kinda don't like how Zoro knows a lot about them. This is out, not only because of the display of guns, but probably because there's an angry nun who has a smoke in her mouth.

     Interesting Note:
Oh and.. I forgot to mention it, but there are a crap load of puns in this episode. Pun-rific. Poor Marc Diraison :(

And as of this episode, the Baroque Works agents get a Mr. or Miss in front of their number/weekday/holiday. In the last dubbed episode, they didn't have that.

     Clip Edit:
A back shot of all the bounty hunters while the dust blows for a second or two, is cut out.

Mr. 8 seems to be pretty angry.. so they decide to kill Zoro. In the original, he's looking down while he speaks. Zoro looks silently. Then Mr. 8 looks up and talks. Zoro looks silently. Then it's the whole view of the cactus rocks and the tombstones. Mr. 8 smiles, and then commands everyone to kill Zoro, but Zoro vanishes and everyone is shocked. All is silent.. and then the episode ends. The dub however.. follows this approach. Mr. 8 looks down, looks up, Zolo looks back, and Mr. 8 tells everyone to attack.

The whole cactus rock tombstone bit is gone, probably because there are way too many crosses to change. You know, rearrange the letters of the names on the crosses backwards, and you get real names.. hm..

After Zoro vanishes, there are shocked expressions from everyone. The expressions from the bounty hunters after Mr. 9 are cut out.

The shot of the moon used after Miss Wednesday speaks is different. There's one from three edits up where everything goes silent and the dust blows, and the one used in the dub is from the next episode, right after the title for 65.

     Digital Edit:
Some missing guns. Count 'em. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
A nice chunk is missing here. The hunters look around for Zoro, but then he mysteriously appears in the crowd with everyone else so they all point their guns to him. The end result is everyone shooting themselves when Zoro disappears again. He reappears right behind Mr. 8 and sticks his katana in Mr. 8's curly hair. The hunters spot him and point their guns, but they would shoot Mr. 8 too. He Igarappa's Zoro but Zoro vanishes once more. and he ends up shooting some people down. All of this is cut out. The dub continues after that, when the smoke from the Igarappa fades in the air. Soo.. right before a few bounty hunters spot Zoro looking up like them, and after Igarappoi's Igarappa is cut out.

     Digital Edit:
Missing dead people! [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Inserted clips, or repeated them I should say. After Zoro hides, the shot of Mr. 9 and Mr. 8 came from after the time when the bounty hunters shot each other when they tried to get Zoro. The close up of Miss Wednesday and Mr. 8 turning around in anger afterwards come from that time too.

Miss Wednesday wiping her forehead (?) after the close up of Mr. 9 is cut out.

A close up of Mr. 8's trumpet after a close up of Miss Monday is gone.

A close up of the window, the mess on the floor, and the barrels of alcohol are cut out. This happens before we see the rest of the Straw Hats for the first time in the episode.

The camera moves from left to right in the dub, while the camera moves right to left in the original. This is a group shot of the crew passed out.

Close ups of Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp right after are cut out.

     Color Edit:
Different colored gun. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Zoro knocking a table over after jumping in to momentarily protect him from the bullets is cut out. In the dub, Zolo jumps into the house after a group of hunters find him, and then immediately he rushes out almost invisibly (swoosh from the blades).

     Digital Edit:
Missing gun. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
In that same shot above, Zoro actually cuts them and they collapse. In the dub they stand around like so and nothing happens to them.

After they do collapse, the quick shot of the moon above the cactus rocks is cut out.

     Color Edit:
Green gun. [Dub|Sub]

Orange... juice? [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
After Miss Monday's barrel became useless, a bounty hunter with a huge stone hammer comes rushing in towards Zoro. Sandai Kitetsu cuts the stone in half and cuts the guy right after, and Zoro is surprised. This is all cut out.

The entire scene afterwards, where a child comes running towards Zoro with a dagger and the nun comes only to try and trick Zoro and try to blind him, is gone. He even used the back of his sword too...

More people shout after Zoro climbs up the ladder and their voices are heard through the window. Window is cut out again and it goes right to the group shot of the Straw Hats.

     Audio Edit:
The stepping noises heard when the group of bounty hunters step on Usopp are quiet.

     Clip Edit:
A still shot of the empty tankard on the table and Nami searching through the first two places before actually finding nothing are cut out.

After Nami finds out that the bounty hunters had no treasure at all, the camera moves to to the cactus rocks and then the graves on them; they are cut out.

The bounty hunters seem to think that Zoro's stuck up at the top of the building, so some of them climb up the ladders to chase him, but Zoro grabs hold of the ladder and pushes it off. This is cut out. After Nami concludes that Misty Peak is a treasureless-island, the episodes immediately goes to a crowd of the bounty hunters - one of them yelling about the ladder falling down (original).

Even before the guy yells about the ladder, one fellow falls, which is cut out in the dub.

A little part of the ladder falling before seeing Zoro on the rooftop is cut out.

The ladder falling after Zoro leaps is cut out. Just imagine that no ladder fell in the dub and Zoro just lept from the rooftop.

     Digital Edit:
Can you see the missing guns? That and the mirrored arm of the bounty hunter in the middle. What, he's not allowed to point like Arlong or the goons that were after Seto Kaiba? [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Right after the above, some of the men shoot, which is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Right after the above, Zolo says to trust in the swords, but Zoro is using the nitouryuu (two sword) style. Both of them used Hawkwave at the end though.

     Clip Edit:
After Miss Monday tosses away the broken ladder, she puts on some metal knuckles (she says brass in the dub but she never equipped them?) and then there's a huge close up on one of her eyes. This is cut out.

     Digital Edit:
A little edit on her hands~ She's allowed to hold Zoro up like that, but Arlong isn't. [Dub|Sub] [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
A close up of Zoro behind held up by the throat is cut out.

     Name Change:
Miss Monday's Kairiki Meriken (Superhuman Strength Fist) is changed to Superhuman Brass Knuckles.

     Clip Edit:
Miss Monday raising her fist, which is a close up of her knuckles, and Zoro's panicking look afterwards is cut out.

Miss Monday actually punching Zoro in the throat is cut out.

Mr. 8's "mahs" aren't in here.. there weren't any "ahems" to replace that either.

After taking Miss Monday down, Zoro smiling and licking his lips afterwards is taken out. This happens right before the original eyecatcher.

After the eyecatcher, the dark clouds hovering over Whiskey Peak are cut out.

     Digital Edit:
Missing gun. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
After the above scene, Zoro stepping to the edge of the rooftop is cut out.

While the BW Agents discuss about Zoro being the real captain of the crew, a shot of Luffy sleeping is cut out.

Mr. 9 raising his pinky is cut out.

     Name Change:
Igarappoi's Igarappa is dubbed Igarappappa.

     Audio Edit:
Don't want to put this under "Interesting Note".. even Carue's voice changed.

     Clip Edit:
Miss Wednesday smacking Carue in the back of the head for sitting is cut out. No cruelty to animals.. again!

     Name Change:
Mr. 9's Hot-blooded 9 remains the same.. but the Guts Bat afterwards is changed to Energy Bat.

     Clip Edit:
Zoro attacking Mr. 9 with ease and Mr. 9 defending with difficulty flashes back and forth a few times. The first two are cut out so it didn't really flash back and forth.

     Digital Edit:
I don't know what to say for this one? [Dub|Sub]

     Dialogue Edit:
Miss Wednesday calls Zoro Mr. Bushido in the original, but in the dub, another pun was just said.

     Clip Edit:
The camera going up from Miss Wednesday's stomach area up to her face is cut out.

     Name Change:
Miss Wednesday's Miwaku no Kousui Dance (Alluring Perfume Dance) has no name in the dub.

     Clip Edit:
The close ups of her shaking her hips is cut out.

     Name Change:
Mr. 9's Kattobase Shikomi Bat (Home-Run Training Bat) is dubbed Home-Run Hider (?) Bat. I'm not too sure on that, so please give me a shout if you know :D

     Digital Edit:
Miss Wednesday threatens Zoro using Luffy, and her blade gets digitally moved to appear further away. [Dub|Sub]

     Interesting Note:
Igarappoi shooting through his hair is the actual Igarappappa, which is the same in the original and the dub, but the dub called the trumpet gun move Igarappappa as well.

     Digital Edit:
The letters on the sign that the Unluckies land on are erased. Hm, and you know, alien-like music plays when the Unluckies attack the three bounty hunters.

     Clip Edit:
The sudden explosion and Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine appearing in the smoke is cut out. Zoro hears it, but that gets cut out too.

     Name Change:
Not really a name change because of the interchangeable L and R, but 4Kids decided to use Alabasta instead of Arabasta, which is the name that KF chose for their subs.

     Color Edit:
The bottle Zoro was drinking from is a different color. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Luffy still sleeping, which happens after the above is cut out.

On episode 66 at this point. Vivi pulling out her Kujaki Slasher (Peacock Slasher, which is kept the same) is cut out since she pulls it from an area that 4Kids finds unappropriate. She still took a swipe at Miss Valentine though.

Mr. 9 is down with his butt facing up, but he waves it around after finding out that Miss Wednesday is really a princess. This is cut out.

Mr. 5 picking his nose, and Vivi pulling out her Kujaki Slasher again is cut out. As well, her twirling it and Mr. 5 still picking his nose afterwards is cut out.

After Mr. 9 begins his attack, Mr. 5 taking his finger out from his nose is cut out, but he is still seen holding his snot (as bad as that sounds..). In the dub he even mentions that he picks his nose.

     Name Change:
Mr. 5's Hanakuso Cannon (Nose fancy Cannon, but it's a pun itself) is changed to Bomb Boogie.

     Clip Edit:
Mr. 5 actually flicking his snot is cut out.

     Digital Edit:
Mr. 5 is editted out in this scene since he practically creates an explosion right at Mr. 9's face. Dubbed Vivi didn't seem too concerned or worried about Mr. 9 after he flew into the water from the explosion to the face.. :/ [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
After Igaram grabs a hold of Zoro's leg, Mr. 5 goes and picks his nose again, which is cut out.

A close up of Vivi after Miss Valentine laughs and before she gets on Carue is cut out.

Right before Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine go to chase Vivi, Mr. 5 had his finger up his nose.. that little part is cut out.

While Igaram tries to ask Zoro to help, he coughs midway, that's not in the dub.

During that, Zoro getting angry at Igaram for wanting help from Zoro after trying to kill him is cut out. A lot after that is gone, which is where Nami appears and has taken interest at the word "reward" from Igaram. It's a huge chunk.. sigh ok. Everything between the time when Igaram talks to Zoro till the time where it looks like Carue is taking Vivi towards the camera is cut out. That includes Nami's moneymaking scheme, the first part of Carue and Vivi running, and then Luffy seeing all the nearly killed bounty hunters on the ground.

By the time the dub ends, is when the commercial break for the original happens. Half way through 66 already, ooOoo..
