Episode 050: Avalanche!

Last time, the episode ended when Wapol appeared beside Chess. In this episode of the dub, it starts with the Bliking anchored at Drum Island. It skips the entire part about them taking down the patrol, and goes to the exact point where the dub ended off last week.

     Color Edit:
Soldiers' still have those green guns, will have a more clearer shot later on.

     Dialogue Edit:
After Wapol's mini flashback of the encounter with the straw hats, he starts to freak out a bit and startles the soldier in front of him. The soldier wasn't given dialogue.

     Clip/Dialogue Edit:
When Chess tells Wapol about the footprints on the ground, Kuromarimo originally had dialogue after Chess, but did not in the dub.

     Digital Edit:
The white symbol on this little carpenter guy's back is erased. [Dub|Sub]

And again. [Dub|Sub]

Now I see what the symbol was, it's the kanji for "dai" meaning "big" or "great". And if you look closely his smoke is erased. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
Usopp asking "What?" after the wounded man told Dalton to save them all is cut out.

When Sanji tells Luffy to start running, it's the end of the episode (at the To Be Continued, Sanji yells "They're causing an avalanche!") while the dub continues on. On 82 now, and the dub continues right after the title for 82 shows itself.

When Luffy asked Sanji how he can protect Nami, Sanji looks around and spots a cliff over to their right. This happens before he starts to run towards it in the dub.

In the dub, after Sanji starts heading towards the cliff, it seems that the part where he spots it (camera zooms in on it quickly) is inserted here.

Back in town, townspeople are telling each other that Wapol's back. The next few scenes are cut out. There's a guy on a horse with a rifle in his hand, with a whole bunch of people in brownish coats behind him. After, the camera scrolls up a totem pole. Right after, people in redish coats get ready to go to Bighorn. Dub continues where the people run through the snow.

But then immediately after that, a bunch of people in green coats yell about Wapol's return, and this cut out. The dub starts again when swords are raised in the air.

     Digital Edit:
This screenshot is the one I'm talking about in the above edit. The man on the right shall fight with a stick!! Arr! [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
While Vivi and Usopp try to find their way to Gyasta, there is a scene where the camera is far away, but you can still sorta see their sled moving across the snow. It's like as if the camera is following them.. sideways. Anyways, this part is cut out. In the original, it's before the frontal view of both Vivi and Usopp.

Usopp acting proud about not knowing anything is cut out.

Here ye go, as I promised earlier. A better view of them green guns. [Dub|Sub]

     Clip Edit:
After Kuromarimo walks in front of Wapol, the part where he bows is cut out.

A quick flash of the straw hats as Kuromarimo reports is cut out, as well as him continuing to bow and talk to Wapol.

     Name Change:
I wanted to mention this in the last comparison, but I wanted to wait in order to confirm. It looks like the Isshi-20 are just referred to as doctors.

     Clip Edit:
When Chess said that Dalton used to be one of Wapol's ministers, Dalton clutching his fist is cut out.

The townspeople telling Dalton that it wasn't his fault is cut out.

The camera scrolling to the right viewing Chess, Kuromarimo, and the soldiers behind them is cut out.

     Name Change:
Dalton's Fiddle Banff (Fiddle Assault) has no name in the dub.

     Dialogue Edit:
After Dalton knocks down a group of men from his attack (the above attack), there were no dialogue from the soldiers in the dub.

While the camera's on Wapol and the others, there is no dialogue here either. It's at this point where they mention the Devil's Fruit of the Zoan family.

     Clip Edit:
After the arrows shine, Dalton takes a hit for the people. In the original, there is a shadow on the snow showing this, and this is cut out in the dub.

Before Chess starts talking, they show the three arrows in Dalton's chest, and this is cut out. There's actually two screens of this cut out.

After the commercial break, there is an inserted screen of the Drum Rockies. The first part of Luffy and Sanji being swept by the avalanche is taken out. The dub continues in the same scene they fly off, but not until both of them are offscreen.

While Luffy's in midair, he asks what he can do, and then the camera shows the evergreen trees being carried off by the avalanche. The part with the trees and Luffy having an idea are cut out.

After Sanji says "Nami's on your back!" to Luffy (or "Nami won't survive it!" in the dub), the following are cut out. The lapahn leaping, a back shot of both Luffy and Sanji, and them heading closer towards the cliff with the three broken tree trunks.

     Dialogue Edit:
Sanji didn't have dialogue in the dub as he is engulfed by the snow.

     Clip Edit:
Before the avalanche reaches town, the trees getting taken down by the avalanche is cut out.

Right before the avalanche crashes into Wapol and the other two, the faces of three of them flash in the screen right before they fly off, and this is of course, taken out. [Sub]

Two screens later, after the avalanche settles down, there is some water flowing down a cliff, and everything around it is sparkly. This part is cut out.

The view of the town covered in snow (a cloud hovers, you can see the shadow) is cut out.

We see Luffy hanging on to the cliff, but he's just a mere speck.. he slightly moves a little, but he's very still in the dub.

When he puts Nami down, in the dub they show him sorta straightening up, but pause it half way right before he takes his coat off, so after a few seconds, it reverses so it looks like he goes back down.

Right after the above, the view of the Drum Rockies is cut out.

The camera pointing up to the sky after Luffy dives in to find Sanji is cut out.

The first part of the baby lapahn digging and putting its paws in its mouth from the frostbite, a shot of a huge paw sticking out from the snow, the lapahn crying more and digging, and a close up of its hurt paws digging into the snow are all cut out.

     Audio Edit:
And.. like most animals in the past including the lapahns, little baby lapahn's growls are changed.

     Clip Edit:
The lapahn backing up to the paw, and right after, a close up of Luffy are cut out.

The dub ends when Luffy just realizes that someone's following him.
