  (Episode 084: The Blue-Nosed Reindeer! Chopper's Secret) New characters introduced: None Dialogue Edit: Nami telling Chopper that he's hiding "backwards" is exchanged with a friendly greeting with him. Digital Edit: Kureha's bottle of umeshu gets a change. [Dub|Sub] Dialogue/Clip Edit: As Kureha puts her finger on Nami's forehead, she takes a drink while Nami asks for who she is. The part where she drinks and the part where Nami asks is cut out. Name Change: Dubbed Kureha wishes for Nami to call her Doctor K, while in the original she wanted to be called Doctorine. Dialogue Edit: Kureha asking Nami if she wanted to know the secret to her youth (she did this to the villagers before, if you remember) is changed to her just calling herself a young one. Clip Edit: After the shot of the fireplace, Kureha takes another drink before walking off the screen while Nami looks around. In the dub Kureha's already gone. Dialogue Edit: Kureha takes a seat on Nami's bed and tells her that she got bitten by a Kestia. In the dub, it's not Kestia, but Kureha calls it a Stingy Dingy Bug. It's funny because in the last episode, dubbed Chopper even told her that it was Kestia. It went from Grand Line Fever to Kestia to Stingy Dingy Bug it seems.. The bug was said to be extinct a hundred years ago in the original, and decades ago in the dub (same thing?). Kureha did mention about being in the jungle in both versions, but if you do remember, when did Nami go into the jungle in the english version? Because Little Garden is gone, mention of being on the Prehistoric Islands isn't mentioned. Clip Edit: Thoughts go through Nami's head (she did in fact had her belly sticking out in the jungle) but aren't present in the dub. That's when Kureha looks at her suspiciously. Here's screenshots of her thoughts! [Sub] [Sub] [Sub] Digital Edit: Digital edit.. it's a thermometer now! [Dub|Sub] But in the next scene, it's gone? [Dub|Sub] Erased! What is Nami afraid of? [Dub|Sub] Clip Edit: After the first side close up of Chopper, there is very short flashback of Luffy at the time when he reached the very top, and this is cut out. Dialogue Edit: Dubbed Chopper had some thought dialogue soon after, but he was originally silent. Feet and meters are two different units, right? In the dub the Drum Rockies were 5000 feet high, in the original 5000 meters high. While in the flashback when Chopper was examining Sanji's condition, he talked in this scene, but in the dub Kureha continued talking. Some more dub Chopper thought dialogue. Clip Edit: As soon as Luffy turned around and said "meat", 4kids inserted a repeat of Chopper's eyes that were used in the flashback. To be more specific, they were right after Luffy said "They're my nakama" (or "Help my friends" in the dub). After the english commercial break, a scene of the castle is inserted here. When Sanji and Luffy start their chase with Chopper again, leaving Kureha and Nami, a shot of Kureha's hips are cut out. Audio Edit: When Chopper goes all big, his voice goes incredibly deep in the dub.. Digital Edit: The arrow sticking out from the snow is removed. [Dub|Sub] Well, you know, when one of the villagers in the dub found Dalton, the arrows were still there, but they're gone a second time.. [Dub|Sub] And again.. [Dub|Sub] And again.. [Dub|Sub] Interesting Note: In the dub, didn't Kureha like to be called old? Now she hates it, she hates it. Clip Edit: Right when Sanji gets hit by Kureha, his cigarette flying off is cut out. When Kureha quickly gets off her chair, a shot of the weaponry in the room is cut out. Digital Edit: It's bad, but I'll let you see the edit yourself. [Dub|Sub] Clip Edit: After the second english commercial, Sanji's feet running in the snow switches places with the scenery inside the castle. During the chase between Kureha and Luffy/Sanji, she chucks an axe (axe flying in the air is cut out) and the axe nearly gets Luffy (which is cut out also). While Sanji's talking to Luffy, Luffy runs slightly faster and eventually, his head snaps back to him (related to the above edit) and this is cut out. Digital Edit: Some regular old book edits. [Dub|Sub] Clip Edit: When Kureha tells Nami about the time when Chopper ate a Devil's Fruit, the first still of the reindeer herd is cut out. Shortly after, the first sight of Chopper walking upright in front of his herd is cut out. Every scene related to the villagers shooting Chopper in Kureha's story is cut out. Before leaving the story, the camera goes down to Chopper's earlier tracks where there was blood on the snow. The dub cuts off right before the camera starts to move. Going back to Luffy and Sanji, the first two scenes are cut out. They were of the interior of the castle. After Sanji grabs Luffy's attention, he lights up a cigarette, and this is cut out. Dialogue Edit: Chopper originally didn't have dialogue as he left. |
