Episode 062: Chasing Luffy
(Episode 094: Reunion of the Powerful! His Name is Fire Fist Ace)
Dialogue Edit:
In the market, the sellers there (including the man selling the mystical golden apple!) are given dialogue while a certain someone walks through.
Digital Edit:
You can't really see it here, but that thing on the belt is an "A", which has been erased.
Ace's tattoo has gone missing.
Clip Edit:
As Ace leaves the golden apple man, the scene is cut right before the man looks around for any possible buyers.
Dialogue Edit:
When Zoro spots Ace's tattoo, he reveals its meaning to all of us very early in the dub.
Clip Edit:
Ace asks the fortuneteller if she could help him find Luffy. When she tells him to try the restaurant, Ace bows (he's very polite) but this is cut out.
Dialogue Edit:
Zoro hears a familiar voice, it's Tashigi! She finds a fraud while looking for katana. The amount of the katana was changed from 200,000 to 2,000,000.
The Marine on the back of her T-shirt is erased and so is the sign in front of her. In later scenes, the symbol on her back is replaced with Navy.
Clip Edit:
Zoro is frusterated at seeing Tashigi in Arabasta. There is a flashback from Loguetown that occurs, but this is cut out.
Luffy's wandering around in the desert... again. When we find out that he's hungry again, a flashback occurs. It's when the Dancing Powder man gave him his lunch to eat, but this flashback is cut out.
Digital Edit:
"Spicebean" on the restaurant sign is erased.
Dialogue Edit:
While you see Ace with his face on his plate, talk about the Desert Strawberry he supposedly ate is silent in the dub.
Clip Edit:
The back shot of Ace switch places with the side shot of him.
Some still shots of the concerned and silent townspeople before Ace wakes up, are cut out.
Audio Edit:
When Ace does wake up, a burp was added in the dub.
Name Change:
Portgas D. Ace to Portgas D. Trace.
Clip Edit:
When the people in the restaurant realize that Ace is a Whitebeard Pirate, the camera slowly zooming out from Ace with his back to the camera is cut out.
As Ace walks back to the restaurant after going through a lot of buildings, he bows and apologizes to a family for interrupting their meal, but you guessed it, that bow is cut out.
After bowing, Smoker lighting up a couple of cigars is cut out.
Luffy has a flashback of Smoker back in Loguetown since he seems to recognize him. The parts that were cut out of the flashback are these: When Smoker speaks to him before attacking, Smoker introducing his fruit, Luffy attacking back but failing, and Smoker getting the upper hand on him.
Name Change:
Smoker's White Snake is changed to Smoke Snake.
Clip Edit:
When Luffy falls in between the buildings, he makes a run for it. Smoker turns around and spots him and quickly chases him again. Then, a repeat of Luffy running (it was used while he was running on the buildings) is inserted.
Name Change:
Smoker's White Blow is changed to Smoke Strike.
Ace's Kagerou (Heat Haze) doesn't have a name.
Clip Edit:
Usopp and Zoro find out that Ace has a Devil's Fruit ability. When Usopp talks, Zoro talks, but in the dub Usopp and Zoro talk again a second time in the same screen.
Name Change:
The Mera Mera (flame) fruit is called the Flare Flare fruit.
