Episode 084: Trading Faces
(Episode 116: Transforming into Nami! Bon Clay's Hard-Hitting Ballet Kenpo)
Clip Edit:
In the dub, when Bon Kurei (as Nami) said it was too hot, you see him arrange his fingers so that it looked like he was about to take his clothes off. There was actually more to it after that, and Bon Kurei even semi-flashed Sanji; these parts are cut out.
Name Change:
Bon Kurei's Keri Pointe (Kick Point) became Tip Toe Kick.
Clip Edit:
Bon Kurei begins to spin and spin. The scene changes to the royal palace. The extra parts that were inserted at the end of last episode originally occurs now. After those scenes (after you see a soldier running), one is cut and put after a far away view of everyone fighting in Alubarna (you can say they switched places), and it involves the soldiers commenting on Vivi's decision (but in the dub Chaka is talking while the soldiers listen).
After the above, a shot of the palace, and Chaka and Vivi facing the camera is cut.
After a bit of talk, in the dub you see Vivi with her eyes closed. Originally, her eyes are open while she remembers the time when Luffy switched places with her when everybody else was riding on Scissors. When the flashback ends, her eyes are closed. You know which parts are cut.
A similar edit to the above after Chaka speaks about the pirates. You see Vivi staring at the screen in the dub, when she used to be looking at Chaka. She remembers the time when Luffy wanted to eat tons after defeating Crocodile. Then she looks at the screen which is what the dub left in.
Dialogue Edit:
Chopper's analyzing Usopp's injuries in a panic and everything's practically the same between the versions, but instead of a broken collarbone he has a broken hipbone.
When Usopp speaks, he says he could see the flowers as Chopper gasps, "could you be seeing Heaven?!" and in the dub, he says that he felt like he got hit by a 4-ton bat (which Chopper agreed, he said he got hit twice with it).
Usopp says that he leaves his great treasure behind for Chopper, fifteen silver and gold coins. In the dub, he wants Chopper to tell everyone how bravely he fought, and that he just ran out of shots for his slingshot.
Chopper kept a manjuu from Usopp... heh. In the dub, it was called a mango. The two are clearly not the same! It's like calling riceballs cookies... or doughnuts... or onions..!
Clip Edit:
When Zoro protects Nami from Mr. 1's attack with his katana, a shot is cut. It was with the camera in Zoro's point of view, and at the same time, Mr. 1 knocks his katana away with his arm.
Name Change:
Mr. 1's Supa Supa Fruit (sfx for cutting, or glinting... KF has it as slicing) is the Dice Dice Fruit, as expected if you played the English Grand Battle.
Dialogue Edit:
So, Miss DF believed that some years ago, Mr. 7 sent an invitation to Zoro to join Baroque Works during his days as a pirate hunter, but Mr. 7 was killed. Maybe, since you see Mr. 7 later on, and Mr. 9 was seen in Whiskey/Misty Peak, they used the name Mr. 9 instead of Mr. 7 here. The problem I see is, that it wasn't Zoro who took out Mr. 9... they fought, but I suppose it wasn't reported that Mr. 5 was the one behind it. Confusing..
Digital Edit:
As soon as Zoro realizes that Nami's gone, little expression marks that show her disappearance are gone.
Name Change:
Bon Kurei's Grand Fouette became Spinning Pirouette
Bon Kurei's Ano Natsu no Hi no Memoir (Memoir of That Summer Day) became Spinning Summer Pirouette.
Sanji's Joue Shoot (Cheek Shoot) had no name.
Bon Kurei's Ballet Kenpo Prima became the Best of Crazy Karate, the Ultimate Booties...?
Digital Edit:
After telling Sanji the gender of his swans on each foot, an angry expression mark on Sanji is gone.
Dialogue Edit:
Sanji used to have some thought dialogue after getting hit on the arm by Bon Kurei.
Clip Edit:
As Bon Kurei performs his attack, Sanji plans something. Him lighting a cigarette in the end before Bon Kurei strikes is cut out.
Name Change:
Bon Kurei's Ano Fuyu no Sora no Memoir (Memoir of That Winter Sky) became Winter Wonderland Yutei (sp? I don't know)
Are you ready? Good, 'cause I'M NOT!
Bas Cotes -> Shoulder Shank Crank
Longe -> Hip Hip Puree
Tendron -> Tenderloin Lash
Flanchet -> Gut Stuffer
Quasi -> "something"... Breaker
Cuisseau (?) -> ... something Tenderizer
...
Queue -> Rump Wrecker
OK... Difficult... I'll finish this list another time.
Clip Edit:
After their second rounds of attacks, both of them fall to the ground. When Sanji struggles to get up, the part where he coughs up a ton of... spit? is cut out. Same goes to Bon Kurei when he tries to get up. You can see some of it dripping from Bon Kurei's mouth when he gets up.
Name Change:
Sanji's Veau Shot became the Prime Cut Kick Surprise.
Bon Kurei's Bombardier Arabesque became the Swan Bombadier Dive.
Clip Edit:
When Sanji gets up, three shots of him afterwards are gone. There's one of him, reaching for a cigarette, and one of him lighting it.
Sanji helps him up and Bon Kurei can't resist crying. After he does, Sanji raises a leg and kicks him down. This part is cut.
As Sanji walks away with Usopp's sniper goggles, the camera moves down to view Bon Kurei who is shocked that Sanji finished him off, but in the dub, the scene changes before the camera moves.
Right after, you see Bon Kurei far away, and then the camera shifts to Sanji who noticed that he had some broken bones again. In the dub, the camera was already on Sanji, who comments on his aches.
On this same screen, the screen becomes tinted with blue and words appear on the screen, showing the outcome of the Polka Street battle in Alubarna's South Block. Just like the one that was supposed to occur after Usopp's and Chopper's battle, this isn't in the dub.
When Vivi looks up to the palace, a few still shots of her childhood are cut. They originally occur before you see her clenched fist.
Right after, before you see a soldierwith a torch in his hand, a face shot of a different soldieris cut.
As they try to light the dynamite, a sand storm picks them up and drops them. Vivi rushes to one of the soldiers. He manages to warn her of the sand, but the part where he dies right after is cut.
At the end while Crocodile laughs and laughs, the episode ends before the camera goes up to face the sky.
