Episode 90: Live and Let Dry
(Episode 122: Sand Crocodile and Water Luffy! Death Match: Round 2)

     Digital Edit:
Now that's just a little silly. Not even a line to separate undershirt and skin. Cobra's still hanging on there. (Image)

     Dialogue Edit:
Added some dialogue for Crocodile right before he gets up, so it's while the camera's on Luffy.

Some strange dialogue going on between Vivi and Nami. Vivi tells them that the bomb's going to blow at 4:30, but in the dub, Nami questions her, "today?" It causes Vivi to say, "Yes, today!!" while the camera moves from Pell to Sanji to Zoro, which is supposed to be silent.

No one within 5 km will survive the blast. In the dub, it's 5 miles.

Vivi (K-F): When the Square is bombed, no one within the five-kilometer blast will be left alive! That's what Crocodile said!
Vivi (4Kids): Crocodile says when it blows up, there'll be nobody left within five miles of here!

Nami: A five-kilometer diameter? That means...!
Nami: Are you serious?

Chopper: The Rebel and Royal Armies will both be wiped out!
Chopper: That will wipe out the rebels and the royals and almost everybody!

Sanji: That shitty croc-bastard...
Sanji: Hey, Nami, how about a good-bye kiss just in case?

Usopp: W-What should we do!?
Usopp: WE GOTTA RUN!!

Zoro: Search for the bombers.
Zolo: Oh no we don't.

Usopp: Eh?
Everyone: Huh?

Zoro: We have to stop them from setting it off!
Zolo: Gotta find that cannon fast!

Chopper: The bombers?
Chopper: But how, Zolo?

Usopp: How are we gonna find them?
Usopp: I hope we're running!

Nami: And in only ten minutes!?
Nami: There's no time!

Zoro: We don't have time to think about this!
Zolo: Especially since Usopp's wasting it!

Usopp: But listen, if the blast's diameter is five kilometers, then they'd have to be shooting from at least 2.5 kilometers away, right?
Usopp: If it'll wipe out everything in a five mile radius, I figure it's gotta be at least 25 miles away.

From this, we learn that in the dub, distances are out of whack, Usopp's not brave, Sanji wants a kiss, and possibly more.

     Good Job:
You know how they like to erase letters off of shirts and shock emphasis marks. They've been left alone in the scenes that involves the Billions showing up.

     Dialogue Edit:
Sanji: Ten minutes minus... how many seconds?
Sanji: Let's take 'em. Quickly.

Zoro: Oi, oi! We don't have time to even talk about that!
Zolo: Okay, but stop wasting time yacking about it, huh?

Zoro/Sanji: Two seconds.
Zolo/Sanji: Let's go.

     Audio Edit:
When Nami's group splits up, Pell flies in the sky. The dub adds a falcon sound.

     Dialogue Edit:
Zoro: Okay, hurry! We gotta go!
Zolo: Find that bomb!

Sanji: Yeah!
Sanji: Bombs away.

To Luffy and Crocodile. Luffy exclaims that he must be the Hachibukai (8 Armed Seas) vs. the Shichibukai (7 Armed Seas), which is what Crocodile is a part of. In the dub, he shouts that he's going to be "king of you all!!"

Cobra: Who is that man?
Nebra: Tell me, is that Luffy?

Miss Allsunday: A pirate. Perhaps you haven't heard. It seems the Princess has narrowly escaped death once again.
Ms. Sunday: That's Luffy. He's the one that brought Vivi home.

Cobra: Then he is the one who brought Vivi here?
Nebra: Then he's brave. But can he handle that monster, Crocodile?

Ms. Sunday: << No one ever has. >>

And so, the fight begins.

Luffy: You're the one who said it, right? Depending on how you use the ability of the Devil's Fruit, it can become stronger.
Luffy: Okay, croc-head! Let's try again. First I'll hose myself up, then close you down, ya big drip!

     Technique Name Change:
[Luffy] Gomu Gomu no Shotgun -> Gum Gum Wave
[Crocodile] Desert Spada (Sword) -> Desert Dagger

     Dialogue Edit:
Crocodile: Do you really think you can win by using the same attacks over and over?
Crocodile: Always the same useless Gum-Gum. Ho-hum.

Luffy: Yeah! DAMN RIGHT I DO!
Luffy: Surprise!

Luffy: I've been planning this from the start!
Luffy: Try this out, croc-head!

Luffy: I'll cover you with water!
Luffy: Roll out the barrel!!

Crocodile: And what a predictable plan it was!
Crocodile: Double ho-hum.

     Technique Name Change:
[Crocodile] Sables (Sands) -> Sandstorm

     Dialogue Edit:
Crocodile: Look how desperate you are, Straw Hat Luffy!
Crocodile: Straw Hat, you're a barrel of laughs!

Crocodile: You can't do anything without that barrel.
Crocodile: You really are! All of your attacks are total duds!!

Crocodile: Looks like nothing's changed since our last match.
Crocodile: You're definitely more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

Luffy: You're right. So far, nothing has changed.
Luffy: I'm just one monkey. That's Monkey D. to you!

Luffy: How about now!?
Luffy: Check it out!!

Luffy: Now I'm not the same as before!
Luffy: Can you dry me out now? Huh??

Crocodile: Are you crazy?
Crocodile: What is with you?

Luffy: Mizu (Water) Luffy!
Luffy: Bubble-belly! That's me.

...

Luffy: I feel waterlogged...
Luffy: Ah! Water balloon!

Luffy: Guess you're not supposed to drink this much water.
Luffy: If I just burp, you get soaked. Ha!

Crocodile: << Doesn't he understand the situation he's in? >>
Crocodile: << Grr! Patience. Maybe he'll spill his guts. >>

...

Luffy manages to get him wet and he readies a Bazooka.
Crocodile: My body...!
Crocodile: This is gonna hurt...!

     Clip Edit:
A backshot of Luffy with Crocodile far out into the distance is cut out. It occurs before you see Crocodile close up on the ground in the dub, after the dust begins to settle.

A shot of Cobra talking is cut out. It occurs right after the above, which is also before the camera focuses on Luffy.

Miss Allsunday taking out the stakes which pinned Cobra to the wall is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Crocodile: Get out of here, Nico Robin. Unless you want to be sucked dry too.
Crocodile: Nico Robin, get moving. I'm madder than a gator with lock jaw.

Crocodile: I have now... lost my patience.
Crocodile: Time's up, you bubble-belly!

     Clip Edit:
After the above occurs, the semi-side shot of Robin is repeated here after the dub's commercial break.

     Dialogue Edit:
Miss Allsunday: Yes, as you wish.
Ms. Sunday: Yes, lead the way. I'll give you a hand. Or two.

     Clip Edit:
After the above occurs, a close up of Crocodile's hand touching the grass is cut. A close up on Luffy afterwards is cut, too.

     Dialogue Edit:
Crocodile: Listen, Straw Hat... All the rock upon the ground will eventually crumble.
Crocodile: Here's my motto, Straw Hat. If at first you don't succeed, dry dry again.

     Technique Name Change:
[Crocodile] Ground Sekko (Drying) -> Wasteland Tremor

     Dialogue Edit:
In the dub, Luffy says something about a Grand Canyon. In the original, he exclaims that it almost got him.

     Clip Edit:
The first screen of the land rumbling after Crocodile begins to dry out the place is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Luffy: The ground is... dying!
Luffy: The world's a big sandpile!

     Technique Name Change:
[Crocodile] Ground Death -> Wasteland Catylclysm

     Dialogue Edit:
Sanji: Shit!
Sanji: Blast! Oh wait, don't say that.

     Clip Edit:
Usopp spots a cannon and Zoro leaps great heights to reach it. At the top, a royal guard awaits him. He's half-dead. A close up of his face is cut out.

     Dialogue Edit:
Zoro is given thought dialogue before he kicks the cannon.
Zolo: << This isn't it! >>

Zoro: NO! It's grown over with moss!
Zolo: We bombed out!

Miss Allsunday takes Cobra with her. They meet up with Tashigi's group.
Miss Allsunday: This is a dangerous place to be waiting, isn't it, Miss Marine?
Ms. Sunday: Hey sailors. New in town?

     Clip Edit:
Tashigi talking is cut out. This occurred before a side view of them, and Tashigi points.

Miss Allsunday hints that she'll kill them all. The above edit, where Tashigi is talking; this is placed here. It causes Cobra to yell out and tell them to stop.

     Dialogue Edit:
Miss Allsunday: Don't get in my way!
Ms. Sunday: Down girl, down.

     Technique Name Change:
[Miss Allsunday] Treinta Fleurs "Strangle" -> Thirty Floret

     Dialogue Edit:
Tashigi: << Having the advantage in numbers doesn't seem to mean anything against her... >>
Tashigi: << She's the queen of the bad attitudes. >>

     Digital Edit:

Tashigi's katana becomes more like a long dagger.

     Dialogue Edit:
Luffy manages to hang on to the edge of the roof of the castle, after Crocodile's attack was executed.
Luffy: His right hand's nothing to laugh at.
Luffy: I never wanna shake that guy's hand.

     Digital Edit:

Some hand edits again. All instances of it have been edited. (Image)

     Dialogue Edit:
Luffy attempts to shoot giant balls of water at Crocodile.
Crocodile: You missed.
Crocodile: Air ball!

     Clip Edit:
As Luffy begins to "die" a second time, him dropping his Straw Hat is not included. The part where his hat floats away is also cut.

     Dialogue Edit:
Crocodile: Once again, you lose.
Crocodile: Well, look at you. High and dry.

     Clip Edit:
The hat floating away is included after the above, and concludes the episode. In the original, there's one more scene; a scene similar to that in the first round. It has Crocodile holding up the withered Luffy by the throat before ending the episode.
